A Chinese consortium including the China Railway Dongfang Group, Prestige Frontier Limited and the Far East Agency for Investment and Export Promotion (IPA) signed an agreement on Thursday in Khabarovsk to undertake construction of a high speed rail link between Mudanjiang in China and Vladivostok in Russia’s far East.

 

The project will involve construction of more than 380 klm of rail, with an estimated 12 new stations and an undetermined number of bridges and tunnels, to sustain a projected operating speed of 250 kmh.

 

The agreement to go ahead with construction was signed before Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev, and Primorsky Region Governor, Andrei Tarasenko, by Deputy General Director of China Railways Dongfang Group, Wang Yuping, Executive Director of Prestige Frontier Limited, Chan Hau Ping, and Leonid Petukhov, Director General of the Agency of the Far East, at the ‘Day of Chinese Investment’ and comes after a project presentation in December 2017.
