Three tonnes of gold fell out of the plane in Russia’s Far East region Yakutia.

The authorities claim to have found 172 gold bars after cargo plane’s transporting gold had its hatch ripped off at  take-off. It is reported that the plane had RUB 22bn (USD 380 mln) worth of gold on board.

Police cordoned off the airfield and no one is allowed inside.

The cargo reportedly belongs to “Chukotka Mining and Geology Company”. The company’s representative has reported that that was an alloy of gold and silver.
